The solution involved a 10 kV slip-ring rotor motor from the EMZ modular series, with a rated output of 1,500 kW and a rated speed of 991 rpm. The 10.8-ton motor was designed as a 1:1-replacement for an existing AEG drive.<\/p>\n<p>The exciting special design in IM1002 construction with a second shaft end, cooling type IC 31, axle height 670 mm and specially adapted base frame placed the highest demands on planning and implementation. A particular challenge was adapting it to the customer&#8217;s existing cooling air system: air inlet from above and air outlet below, each via existing ducts, as well as rotor connection cables from below.
